System requirements

1. Hardware requirements

• A GSM/GPRS device, either a mobile phone or a modem, is required. Common mobile phones such as Siemens, Nokia and Sony-Ericsson, among which a Nokia phone is recommended. Common modems such as Wavecom, Siemens, Motorola and Sony-Ericsson, among which a Wavecom modem is recommended.

• A valid SIM card is required.

• A serial/USB data cable matching the GSM device is required. The infrared communication is available in case your mobile phone has an infrared port. However, if the computer does not have an infrared port, an USB infrared adaptor is required to connect to your mobile phone. The Bluetooth communication is available in case your mobile phone has Bluetooth support inside. A Bluetooth adaptor is required to connect to your mobile phone.

2. Software requirements

• Kylix SMS ActiveX Control was developed under the Windows environment, therefore it works under Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Vista.

• The component is an ActiveX Control, and it can be imported into any programming environment that supports ActiveX controls (e.g. Microsoft Visual Basic, Microsoft Visual C++, Microsoft Visual C# .NET, Borland Delphi, VBA, etc.).
